Frequently Asked Questions
Twice a year works well for many patients. If you have gum concerns, a history of cavities, medical conditions that affect your mouth, or ongoing dental treatment, your dentist may recommend a different schedule to keep things stable.
Yes. We use digital imaging that produces very clear pictures with a very low dose of radiation. Images are taken only when they help with diagnosis or treatment planning.
Call right away for intense tooth pain, visible swelling, a tooth that is broken or knocked out, or an injury to the mouth. If you are unsure, phone the office and we will help you decide the next step. Most days, we set aside time to assess urgent concerns.
Our team provides care for the prevention, repair, and replacement of teeth. That includes exams and cleanings; tooth-colored fillings and crowns; bridges, implants, and dentures; professional whitening, bonding, and veneers; root canal treatment and gentle tooth removal; and evaluation and therapy for bite or jaw-joint problems.
We work with many insurance plans. Before treatment, we can review your benefits and estimate your portion. Our office submits claims for you, collects copays or deductibles at the visit, and offers payment options for any remaining balance.
Your appointment starts with a conversation about your health history and goals. We then examine your teeth, gums, and bite, and take digital X-rays if they are indicated. Findings and options are reviewed with you, and a cleaning is performed when appropriate.
Absolutely. We begin with a careful exam and cleaning, talk through priorities, and map out a step-by-step plan that fits your comfort level and schedule—without judgment.
Brush your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, and clean between teeth once a day with floss or an interdental tool. Sip water often, limit frequent snacking on sugary or acidic foods and drinks, and avoid tobacco. If your dentist suggests a mouthwash or other product, we will show you how and when to use it.
Yes. We assess the joints, muscles, and bite to find likely causes. Care may include a custom night guard, bite adjustments, targeted exercises, short-term medication, or referral when needed.
Sealants are protective coatings brushed onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth, creating a barrier against decay. It helps keep food and bacteria out of deep pits where cavities start. Sealants are common for children when molars come in, and they can also help adults with deep grooves or higher cavity risk.
Use our online scheduler or call the office to reserve a time. For urgent symptoms such as severe pain, swelling, or a tooth injury, please call so we can triage your needs and try to see you the same day.
A dental implant is a titanium fixture inserted into the jawbone, serving as a stable base for a new replacement tooth. As the bone heals around them, they form a strong base for crowns, bridges, or dentures. At Knight Dental Studio, implants help restore a natural appearance and allow you to chew and speak comfortably again.
With regular dental care and healthy gums, implants can last for decades, often a lifetime. Routine visits to Knight Dental Studio help ensure the bone and surrounding tissue stay strong so your implant remains secure and functional.
